How is the first month of the year already over?? I guess getting back to my normal routine after Christmas made it go by fast. It was also a pretty calm month in the Pinkerton household, other than Derek working a lot during his internal medicine rotation. Things will pick up for us a bit in February. We’re meeting up with friends for the Super Bowl, and we’ll be celebrating my 25th birthday next week. Derek has 4 more weeks of internal medicine, specifically with nephrology, at UNC. I’ll be busy at work prepping for our annual social work retreat in March. It’ll be a busy month!

But first, here are my favorite posts from January 2015:

And just like that, another month comes to a close. As much as I enjoyed all of my October adventures in Chattanooga, Wilkesboro, and Raleigh, I’m happy about slowing down again. And November includes my favorite holiday: Thanksgiving! Before I move forward with November, I want to review my favorites posts from October:

Happy fall y’all! It’s hard to believe that September has already come and gone. I spent the first weekend of September in Kentucky celebrating my grandfather’s 90th birthday. It was such a great trip! I also completed weeks 6 through 10 of half marathon training, though I’ve been dealing with a lot of injuries.  Derek finished his family medicine rotation, and he started pediatrics this past week. (Side note: he’s loving pediatrics; perhaps we have a future pediatrician on our hands?) Overall, September was a relatively quiet month for us. It’s a good thing, too, because October is going to be crazy. We’ll be traveling a lot with the half marathon and a few weddings. Anyway, here are my favorite posts from September 2014:

August was a bit of a roller coaster ride. Highlights include passing my clinical licensing exam, Derek returning from Wilmington to start his family medicine rotation in Chapel Hill, completing the first 5 weeks of half-marathon training, and celebrating Derek’s birthday. However, it has also been quite stressful at work for both of us this month, and we were heartbroken when things didn’t work out with Wink. (P.S. She has since been adopted!!)

Now I am getting really excited about September. Next weekend I’m flying to Kentucky to celebrate my grandpa’s 90th birthday! I haven’t seen my family since I graduated in May, and I am beyond excited to see them. I am also pumped for fall. It’s definitely my favorite season. I love the weather (though fall weather doesn’t really start until October in North Carolina); it’s perfect for running, tailgating, and enjoying the beautiful views when the leaves change color. Not to mention I’m obsessed with all things pumpkin. I’m sure I’ll be posting some delicious pumpkin recipes over the next few months.

Before I get ahead of myself with my love for fall, here are my favorite posts from August 2014:

Wow, July flew by! I’m finally getting into a groove at work now that I’m 2 months in, and Derek’s been in Wilmington on his OBGYN rotation for 4 weeks now (2 more to go!). I also started my first of 12 weeks of half marathon training. Next month will be a busy one, too. I take my licensing exam, we’re going to celebrate Derek’s birthday, we have friends visiting from out-of-town, and Derek will start his family medicine rotation. We may also have an announcement on Saturday. 🙂  Never a dull moment here.
